The Dupla Taliban Kupa functions as the local Hungarian championships of disc golf, and is held once a year on the anniversary of September the 11th.

The events of September 11th in New York had a profound effect on the disc golf community in Hungary, and in the autumn of that year certain terms entered the disc golf vocabulary that were synonomous with that fantastic event.

"Azt a Bin Ladent" became the favourite lament when a shot went wild or a putt fell out of the chains when the thrower thought it was in. Likewise "Azt a nagy Talibant" was used interchangeably when luck was against the hapless disc golfer, or expletives such as "Mullah Omar" were often heard, as were discussions about the theoretical 72 virgins. Eventually a single or simple Taliban wasn't enough for the players to express their frustration, and on one fateful afternoon, the expression "Dupla Taliban" was coined by Il Senor Köcsög . .  . the rest, as they say, is bollocks!

In honour of this event, in 2005 Otto El Ahib started the tradition of the Dupla Taliban Kupa. The inaugaral tournament was won in fine style by El Danifa, in 2006 Dylan Hussein triumphed after returning from the sand dunes of Iraq, in 2007 El Danifa (with Allah on his side) won back his title, and then again in 2008 Dylan Hussein proved the eventual victor after a long campaign in Afghanistan.
